Combo Giveaway

Do I have your attention?! Well, there is a reason I am calling this a "Combo Giveaway". I celebrated my 2nd Blogoversary on October 1st and promised a giveaway for that before the end of the year. I also just noticed I am over 200 posts (this will make 201), so another celebration! And ~ it is the season of giving afterall, LOL! This will be a bit of a mystery package with some stitchy stuff, some local goodies, and a lil somethin' made by yours truly! From now until the end of the year I will take names to include in this Combo Giveaway. That's right, until December 31st of 2010!!! The drawing will take place on January 8th of 2011 and the package will be sent to it's new home shortly thereafter. Why such a gap you wonder?! Well, that is because I will be heading to Michigan on Dec 25th and plan to be back home around Jan 2nd. Plus, I need time to get the goodies carefully packaged away for shipment.

On the stitchy front ~ I did manage to finish that ornament for my cousin! I used some ribbon for the hanger and some of the red satin-like fabric for the backing (not shown). I didn't sew the pieces together, rather I stitched a second piece of aida cloth to the back to cover the stitches and attached the ribbon. I then used fusible interfacing on the backing fabric to prevent glue from seeping. I used a hot glue gun to glue it all together. Not a shabby job if I do say so myself. Plus, no glue seepage!

I am also almost finished with another ornament, but I am not sure if I will get any more done. So much for getting ornaments made for the nieces and nephews this year, LOL! We'll see what happens, but right now, I am not holding my breath. I used the same 18ct Aida in Oatmeal (as I will for the rest when I do get around to making them) and the same little insert from the BH&G book. Floss colors are DMC: white, 310, 321, 352, 815, 816, 945, 3773. Only thing left is the backstitching and the finishing.
